Seed School is a small, home-based community where young people gather to ask questions, explore, create, learn, and build relationships. Seeds are small, yet full of potential. One definition of school is “a source of knowledge.” And sometimes, the knowledge found in something as small as a seed can become the root of a lifetime of wonder. 

During the fall season our days might include gardening, cooking, baking, art, leather work, woodworking, fermentation, fiber arts, foraging, caring for animals, or simply following an interesting question. We’ll spend time both indoors and outdoors, learning through our hands, our senses, and communal experiences. Many weeks we will welcome a generous neighbor with a skill they are eager to pass along to this generation.

Seed School is not built around a rigid curriculum. We will stay connected with the seasons, the weather, the interests of the group, and the unexpected things that make life intriguing.

Our hope is simple: that young people leave a little more curious, grounded, capable, and connected.

Curious about the world around them— the world God created. Grounded through meaningful work and time spent making and doing. Capable because they’ve tried something new. Connected to friends and a community where they can belong.

While Seed School is not a religious or faith-based program, the Kingdom of God naturally shapes the way I see the world. Wonder, mystery, beauty, and gratitude will be the spirit of this space, while families of all backgrounds are welcome.

Seed School is not meant to replace the education happening at home. There are no grades, tests, or required curriculum here.
