I have always been curious, asking “too many questions," and for as long as I remember, I have loved any excuse to invite and gather people together.
During my years as a student, my natural inquisitiveness did not line up with the text books assigned to me. That led to years of dormant wonder. I learned how to ignore the mystery around me and to seek certainty in the form of good grades and a good GPA.
When my jouney as a mother and home educator began, I dreamed of being part of a school that aimed to keep the natural-born curiosity in my kids growing. With each new child we had and each school choice we made, the vision became more and more clear. The learning community I longed to be a part of didn't exist.
In 2024, while sitting at a silent retreat, an acorn fell beside me. As I picked it up, something became clear: I don't need to plant the oak tree. I just need to plant the seed.
And the idea for Seed School began.
Seed School is a place where curiosity can lead us down unexpected paths, where we learn from the people and stories around us, and where a small community has room to know and care for one another.
I have grown a lot while navigating education with our four children, learning that there is no single path through learning or life. I am a fellow learner at Seed School—continually curious and eager to see what takes root.
May all your life—
Your fantastic,
Dirty,
Messy,
Holy
Life—
Be a prayer.
